Pura Vida Coffee is a Costa Rican inspired coffee shop, located in the North End of Hagerstown, MD, just around the corner from the Hagerstown Regional Airport! (find us off of Rt. 81, Exit 10A)
We are happy to offer a great atmosphere for sitting and enjoying your favorite coffee-based beverages, teas, on-site baked goods, breakfasts & lunches. And we are very proud to let our customers know that we make everything onsite, including many of our syrups (caramel, mocha, lavender, pumpkin spice, etc.) Be sure to check out our menu!

What does Pura Vida mean? Literally it is pure life in Spanish. However, as a Costa Rican greeting it means anything having to do with a worry-free lifestyle, well-being, enjoying family and friends, and encouraging others to relax and embrace life!

In the spring of 2016, Glenn and Margie took a trip to San Jose and Cartago, Costa Rica. In visiting various locations, they were amazed at the coffee, sugar cane, and bananas growing on the slopes of the mountains. They began to think about bringing some of their experience home to share with their community. Pura Vida Coffee offers menu items from both standard American fare and also Costa Rican recipes. The décor combines the beauty of our own American heritage with that of Costa Rica.

The Yeagers' second trip allowed them to bring home gift items and the wood that has been used to furnish the shop’s tables and chairs. This wood was sourced via our partnership with Montaña de Sueños which is a business as mission project providing jobs in the lumber and bee keeping industries.
